PRENTATAL GROUP CLASSES
Our Prenatal Group Classes are open to pregnant clients in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters (clients who are pregnant in their 2nd and 3rd trimester can take our prenatal classes or privates; they cannot attend regular group classes – first trimester is still OK in regular classes or prenatal classes)
Previously we had only offered a private session for prenatal clients; after developing a prenatal certfication and prenatal workout plans that can work for a group, we are excited to be able to offer a more affordable prenatal option for our clients!
These classes will cater to the modifications needed during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy. Non-pregnant clients are also welcome to attend, but please keep in mind that there will be some modifications and omissions of certain movements to focus on our pregnant clients’ needs.
Post-natal clients are also welcome!

After her first pregnancy, Pilates Punx owner Allie Tichenor had a better understanding of what it felt like to be pregnant, how to modify exercises based on pregnancy needs, and how to work to prepare the Pelvic Floor for birth. When she got pregnant with her 2nd baby, she realized that she had a much better understanding of what was to come and decided to develop a Prenatal Certification Program, starting internally with her staff to add Prenatal Group classes to the schedule!
FAQ
Why can’t I just take regular classes? There are a lot of standard positions and movements in our regular Pilates Classes that just aren’t for pregnant clients. We want to make sure that we are offering a safe environment that is good for you & baby as you workout throughout your pregnancy. Things can change for you day to day, so these classes are pre-planned with movements in mind for you with quick modification options on-hand as needed.
Is this just a bunch of stretching? No. We figure that our pregnant clients are looking for just as great of a workout as they have been getting, so while there may be some stretching, the workout will still be a challenging yet achievable Pilates workout.
I want to bring a workout buddy, but they’re not pregnant. Can they join? Yes! We encourage you to share this experience! We aim to provide prenatal classes that are still challenging to non-pregnant clients. A lot of the work that we do would also be taught in a regular class, but clients should know that we’ll be avoiding some positions, such as lying prone on the belly – so they know their class might not look like a Classical Joseph Pilates Reformer repertoire.
